It seems that an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 is becoming more and more of a reality.
Though "evad3rs," an elite team of iOS hackers, are still working on developing a workable jailbreak solution for iOS 7, one other iOS hacker - @winocm - is instead concentrating on liberating iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4. Back in August, the hacker claimed to have an untether binary for Apple's iOS 6.1.3, and now it seems we have proof.
In a new video, @winocm shows off what appears to be an untethered jailbroken iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.4. The handset runs the Cydia Store app, and can be rebooted without having to be connected up to a desktop computer.

As such, if you held off on updating to iOS 7 in the hope that a jailbreak solution for iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 could soon be available, @winocm appears to be making promising progress. That being said, whether a workable jailbreak solution is able to come out of @winocm's work remains to be seen. As of this writing, Apple is still signing iOS 6.1.4, making a downgrade possible.
