ZeptoLab Announces 'First True Sequel' To Hit Physics-Based Puzzler Cut The Rope

September 26, 2013
A couple of weeks ago, Where's My Water? 2 was launched on iOS. And this holiday season, the sequel to another hit physics-based puzzle game is set to be released. The upcoming game is called Cut the Rope 2. It is, of course, the sequel to Cut the Rope, the popular cord-slicing game created by ZeptoLab. No concrete details, not even a release date, have been revealed about Cut the Rope 2. But the Russian gaming company, which is also behind the stick-em-together puzzler Pudding Monsters, is looking to introduce "new twists on classic gameplay, never-before-seen characters, interactive environments and a captivating story that will appeal to new players and existing fans alike." In addition to announcing the sequel, ZeptoLab has also disclosed that its Cut the Rope games have been downloaded more than 400 million times since the first was released in October 2010. That means Om Nom has been fed candy at least as many times. And it's set to be fed even more candy with the forthcoming release of Cut the Rope 2. Even as it's touted as the "first true sequel" to the original, Cut the Rope 2 is already the fourth title in the popular Cut the Rope series, following the first Cut the Rope game, Cut the Rope: Experiments, and Cut the Rope: Time Travel.
