AgileBits Updates 1Password For iOS To Add Wi-Fi Sync And More

October 14, 2013
The popular 1Password for iOS has just received a long overdue update adding support for Wi-Fi sync. As such, users of the $17.99 universal app can now sync their 1Password account between an iDevice and their Mac computer over a local wireless network (rather than using iCloud, Dropbox, or iTunes File Sharing). It's definitely a feature users of 1Password will appreciate, and one that is indeed long overdue. Once enabled, 1Password for iOS users will be able to share all of their new saved passwords with a Mac computer, using the recently released 1Password 4 for Mac; it's as simple as that. In addition, the custom items icons added in 1Password 4 for Mac will now show in the iOS application, and users also have the option of changing the in-app browser's user-agent. Further improvements made in 1Password 4.3 include:
  • Better support for iOS 7
  • Greatly improved initial iCloud sync performance.
  • Improved search performance.
  • Diagnostic information is now emailed as an attachment.
Finally, a large number of fixes, too, have been applied, meaning the application should now run better than ever. The 1Password for iOS application can be downloaded in the App Store for $17.99, and is optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Mac users can also download 1Password 4 for Mac, which is priced at $39.99.
