Amazon Instant Video Update Allows Users To Multitask With AirPlay

A little more than a month after finally introducing AirPlay support, Amazon has just updated its Instant Video app with another nice feature.
In version 2.1.1 of the app, users can multitask with other apps while AirPlay streaming to the Apple TV. Previously, users had to keep the app up and running for the streaming to work correctly.
That’s a very nice change, and it finally makes the app worth using – at least for me. I’m looking forward to continuing to work on my iPad while watching video.
The update also brings improved iOS 7 compatibility and other minor bug fixes.
A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Amazon Instant Video can be downloaded now in the App Store for free.
With a Prime membership, which costs $79.99 per year, users can view thousands of movies and television shows for free.
Earlier this month, news leaked that Amazon is also planning its own streaming video box that should be released sometime before the holiday season. Along with streaming videos and music, the box may also feature games and other apps.
