Today, on Friday, Oct. 25, Apple's iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c launch in 35 additional countries, including Italy, Spain, South Korea, and New Zealand. Of course, time zones around the world indeed vary, but most - if not all - international Apple Online Stores included in the selection are back online, and are offering the new handsets.
As we explained earlier this month, countries getting the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c include:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, French West Indies, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Island, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Thailand.Though an impressive selection, this isn't all. Next week, on Nov. 1, Apple will be launching both handsets in an additional 16 countries, including important markets such as India and the United Arab Emirates. Countries included in the third wave of Apple's iPhone launch, then, include: Albania, Armenia, Bahrain, Colombia, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, India, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. It seems that in order to meet worldwide demand for the handsets (and especially the iPhone 5s), Apple has increased production of its flagship smartphone by 75 percent. Production of the iPhone 5c, however, is said to have decreased by 35 percent due to purported consumer disinterest in the smartphone. It's great to see that despite rumored supply constraints, Apple is pushing to bring its new iPhones to as many customers as possible. Come Nov. 1, however, Apple's new iPad Air will launch in a larger selection of international territories from the offset, including:
the United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China (Wi-Fi models only), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao (Wi-Fi models only), Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.Of course, we'll be discussing the international launch of Apple's iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in the next edition of AppAdvice International: our brand new column dedicated to tracking Apple's work outside of the United States.
