The App Store takes delivery of hundreds of new apps per day. The overwhelming scene makes it possible to easily overlook an exciting game, valuable productivity suite, etc. However, we have a solution. Today’s Best Apps tackles this problem by providing you with a handpicked and tested list of apps that are truly worth your consideration each and everyday. Remember: Even though in-app purchases typically require your iTunes Store password for processing, you can further prevent them and other unauthorized actions by enabling local restrictions using the passcode locked iOS parental controls

Slomo+ by Franz Bruckhoff ($1.99, 1.5 MB): Only for iPhone 5s, this video processing tool lets you do mo’ with the slo-mo. In other words, one simple additional step creates a version of your slow motion video that maintains the effect when imported by apps such as iMovie, Instagram, or even file transfer programs. All it takes is switching to Slomo+ after creating a scene using Apple’s Camera app, tapping on the automatically showcased video in the beautifully crafted, parallax supported gallery, then voila! If necessary, preview-style playback can be done via a double tap, followed by a drag to scrub. Processed videos are unfortunately trimmed to the square aspect ratio.

Nike SB by Nike, Inc. (Free, 55.0 MB): This competitive virtual community allows you to learn and burn with skateboarders across the world. First of three activities is climbing the trick tree. The likely frequented spot allows for training and demonstration at a progressive pace. Next, head on over to the Challenges section where you'll pick a trick and get a glimpse of how it's done, then upload your own proof of performance. For the final proving grounds, there's the S.K.A.T.E. zone. Here, you start or join turn-based match-ups where players must successfully repeat a selected trick or be penalized with a letter, much like the basketball variant H.O.R.S.E. Overall, the app features neon green 2-D graphics, the three aforementioned areas, progress tracking personal profile, badges, Facebook integration, and quick access to the Nike SB shop. A free Nike+ account is required.

Number Rush: Power Surge by (Free, 20.9 MB): This addition-based chain reaction puzzler puts arithmetic into high gear. The concept is a lot like Bejeweled Blitz, however, rather than simple matching, the string of tiles must equal the number displayed above the board. In addition, powerful red tiles will appear that explode when utilized and quick performances, especially with long chains, initiate a frenzy-type mode of rapid cascades and an increased multiplier. The game features retro-style 2.5-D graphics, calm and climatic chiptunes, 60-second play, score multiplier, as well as global and Facebook friend leaderboards.

Bad Candy by LandShark Games (Free, 17.6 MB): This reimagined version of Minesweeper is like a tasty treat for any mind. In a world where good candies are bullied by the bad, you have been chosen as the sweet savior. Before serving up justice, the criminal candies must be outed. Unfortunately, they blend it very well when viewed from behind. However, there is a weakness. The good candies are so afraid of the bad that they keep a watchful eye, which means you simply need to observe the stares as you flip the good candies one by one. Careful and cautious, utilize the behavior to narrow down the bad candy positions, and remember not to tap there. The game features cartoony 3-D graphics, charming soundtrack, 60 levels spanning three stages, star rating system, as well as Game Center and Facebook integration for progress synchronization.
