Automatic Life-Logging App Rove Gets Full M7 Integration And Other Improvements

November 11, 2013
The automatic life-logging app Rove has just been updated with full M7 integration. Late last month, Rove was updated with support for iOS 7's Core Motion API. As a result, the app was optimized for the M7 motion coprocessor in iPhone 5s. As it turns out, though, it was thus optimized in preparation for its full M7 integration, which is now in effect following the app's latest update. Essentially, this makes for less battery consumption on iPhone 5s. Note, though, that Rove's algorithm has long been optimized to minimize battery drain when the user is stationary or moving quite fast. In addition, Rove's full M7 integration improves the accuracy of the timeline in some cases. The latest update to Rove also brings the following enhancements:
  • New controls: pause/resume automatic photo import (available in the settings page).
  • Improved design for profile and timeline clock.
  • Reduced storage space requirement. This was a problem when importing a large number of photos. We don't keep a copy of the original photo anymore.
  • New sharing functionality. You can now choose the exact timeframe that you want to share (days/hours/minutes).
  • Bug and crash fixes.
The new version of Rove is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
