BitTorrent Sync Updated With iPad Support, iOS 7 Redesign And More
November 11, 2013
BitTorrent Sync has just gone universal on iOS, just over a couple of months after its launch in the App Store.
Running on the popular BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing protocol and competing with the likes of Dropbox and Box, BitTorrent Sync is a personal file syncing app. As such, as we pointed out in original article on the app's launch, BitTorrent Sync does not allow downloading of torrent files from an iOS device.
What it does allow is sharing as well as syncing files on the go. It lets you share files with other users, share files between mobile devices, and back up certain files on your iOS device.
When it was launched on iOS late last August, BitTorrent Sync was optimized for iPhone and iPod touch only. But thanks to its new update, the app has been given universal support and optimized for iPad as well.

At the same time, the app has been given the inevitable iOS 7 treatment, with a new design inspired by and compatibility improvements for the operating system.
The latest update to BitTorrent Sync also adds the ability to send and sync files in others via Sync and the ability to save photos and videos from Sync folders to camera roll.
Also including improved connection speed and other enhancements, the new universal version of BitTorrent Sync is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later.
