Three weeks ago, MTV released a new iOS app called MTV Artists, giving users more ways to easily discover and connect with music artists. Now, that app has received its first ever update. MTV Artists' features include:
But the highlights of MTV Artists are undoubtedly its search and song identification features, accessible as they are at the top of the app's home screen. MTV Artists allows searching for artists by name. It also allows typing a few lyrics to find out which artist is behind a particular song. And now, the app's first update promises more accurate lyric searches. It also promises faster performance on Sound ID. As its name suggests, Sound ID identifies a song based on a brief sample of music being played — MTV Artists' built-in Shazam or SoundHound, as it were. The first update to MTV Artists also introduces Pandora integration. As a result, you can now launch the Pandora app directly from MTV Artists to play more music from your favorite or newly discovered artists. Also including some bug fixes, the new version of MTV Artists is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later.
