So Long, Wallet-Like Faux Stitched Leather: PayPal App Gets Redesigned For iOS 7
November 21, 2013
The official iOS app of PayPal has, at long last, been updated and redesigned for iOS 7.
PayPal was featured by Apple during the company’s special iPhone event last September as one of the high-profile apps that would be getting iOS 7-inspired designs. Fast forward to over a couple of months later, and PayPal's very own iOS 7-inspired design is here.
Following the official launch of iOS 7, PayPal received a major update a month ago. Short of introducing a new iOS 7-style interface, the update reordered the Account bottom menu thus: Activity, Transfer, Wallet, and Settings. It also added support for password management apps.
Now, the latest update to PayPal finally introduces a new interface based on the look and feel of iOS 7. So long, raised texture and wallet-like faux stitched leather!
The new update also adds support for scanning a QR or bar code when paying at select merchants and offers the option to select the start screen for quick access to the app's most frequently used tab.
The new version of PayPal is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.
In its release notes for the new update, PayPal reminds users that withdrawing funds from the PayPal balance to a bank account may be done in the Wallet tab.
