Songkick Concerts 3.0 Features iOS 7 Redesign, In-App Ticket Purchasing And More
November 22, 2013
Songkick Concerts is now "spacious, simpler, streamlined, and ready for iOS 7," according to the release notes for the latest update to the app.
Indeed, the new update, which brings the official iOS app of the concert-tracking site Songkick to version 3.0, features a new iOS 7-style interface.
Apart from that, it introduces a couple of significant new features: in-app ticket purchasing and Spotify integration.
With Songkick Concerts 3.0, you can now easily and quickly buy tickets on the go — on the condition that you're a U.K. customer, that is. Here's what Songkick has to say about this new feature:
Although well over 50% of Songkick users browse shows on mobile, under 10% of you buy tickets on your phones. That’s because up until now the experience hasn’t been smooth. Today we’re taking the first step towards improving that – by introducing integrated ticketing into our app. Check it out – try and buy your next concert ticket in our app! This feature is only available in the UK right now, but we’re working to line up the right ticketing and promoter partners to launch it with worldwide. The newly updated Songkick app now also displays links and prices for all ticket options for every event. In addition, it adds support for event tracking with email reminders. The other significant new feature in Songkick Concerts 3.0 is, as mentioned, Spotify integration. Earlier this month, the official Spotify iOS app was updated with touring details sourced from Songkick. Now, the favor has been returned with the Songkick app's new Spotify syncing feature. In addition to your Music library, your Spotify playlists are now scanned by Songkick for tracking your favorite artists. Note that Songkick's Spotify integration requires a Spotify Premium account. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later, Songkick Concerts 3.0 is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
