Welcome back. Once again it is launch day for another new Apple product – the iPad Air. After highlighting 15 cases for the new tablet in last week’s edition
, we’re looking at even more options today.
ZAGGKeys Folio from ZAGG
The ZAGGKeys Folio is another nice looking keyboard case for the tablet. Featuring island style keys, the keyboard itself is only 7.6mm thick. As a unique option, the backlit keys can also shine a number of colors. An integrated hinge allows for more than 130 degrees of viewing angle. The built-in battery can also go for up to three months without needing to be recharged.
The black version of the case is available to ship now directly from ZAGG’s site for $99.99
. A white edition is listed as coming soon.
Tough Jacket Series from Ballistic
Offering a three-layer system of protection, Ballistic’s Tough Jacket features reinforced corner protection and a removable case that doubles as a kickstand for the tablet. A raised front lip makes sure that the tablet’s screen never touches the surface of a table when laid flat.
Buyers can select from an all black, black/white, or black/red version of the case. It can be purchased for $69.99
directly through Ballistic now.
Tek-nical from Incipio
A hard shell folio, the tek-nical is highlighted by its Plextonium snap-on case and premium microsuede inside cover. The front cover can fold to create either a typing or media viewing angle. A tab latch system also makes sure that the cover remains secure.
Buyers can select from a pink, black, or gray version of the case. It will retail for $39.99
and is listed as coming soon.
Wood Smart Case from Grove
Made with lightweight bamboo and maple, the Wood Smart Case from Grove is a unique way to protect the iPad. The cover, along with activating the automatic on and off feature, can be placed in three different positions - including a portrait angle. The soft ultrasuede interior helps keep the screen free of dust and scratches.
The case retails for $99. It is currently listed as shipping in 4-6 weeks
Flagship Folio from Incipio
A premium case choice, the Flagship Folio features a carbon fiber finish and a stand that allows for multiple viewing angles. Available in black
, the case is $69.99. It’s listed as coming soon.
Walden Collection from Pad and Quill
A minimalist case choice, the Walden Collection is a simple and beautiful way to protect the new tablet. Users attach their tablet to the 3M grip that is reusable and offers a clean release.
Retailing for $49.99
, the case can be preordered now, and it will ship in mid-November. Along with selecting a black or brown exterior color, buyers can choose from one of four interior color options for even more customization. For an extra $7.50, you can also order a version of the case with an interior pocket.
StyleFolio from Speck
A brand new case line from Speck, the Style Folio features an adjustable stand, anti-scratch interior lining, and a secure closure clasp. The vegan leather finish is also smooth to the touch. There will be 14 unique style options to select from.
Unfortunately, Speck isn’t listing a retail price for the case, saying only that it is coming soon on its site.
Author Series from Pad and Quill
The Author Series case helps disguise the iPad Air as a simple book while offering a dose of protection for the tablet. The tablet is held by a hand-finished wood frame while the outside of the case uses bookbindery cloth. Users still have access to all ports and buttons on the tablet. Thanks to magnets in the case, the iPad can be set to turn on and off by just opening or closing the case.
Retailing for $84.99
, the case will ship in mid-November. Users can select from nine different colors for the outside, inside, and spine of the case. There are seven color choices for the elastic bookmark. An inside pocket costs an extra $5.
Durables Sleeve from DODOCase
One of my favorite case makers, DODOCase also offers a beautiful sleeve option. The Durables Sleeve features a waxed canvas interior along with a colorful cotton twill interior liner. A middle layer of recycled felt helps add a layer of protective padding. Leather accents finish off the sleeve.
Available in sage, natural, or navy, the sleeve costs $64.95
. Since the sleeve is handcrafted, buyers will have a to be patient and allow two to three weeks for it to be made in the company’s San Francisco shop.
