Say Hello To The 'Definitive All-In-One' Neptune Pine Smart Watch
December 17, 2013
First there was the Pebble. This was followed by the Samsung Galaxy Gear. Next year, Apple could unveil the so-called “iWatch.” In between will be the Neptune Pine, “the definitive all-in-one" smart watch.
The Neptune Pine will be available in 16GB and 32GB varieties and offers voice calls, video chat, a full keyboard, GPS, and more. Unlike other products already on the market, the Neptune Pine is cellular-enabled. In other words, it doesn’t require a smartphone nearby to work.
Here’s how the Neptune Pine matches up to products already on the market:
Take a look:
As you can see, the Neptune Pine could become a significant player in the emerging smart watch market. This is especially true now that it has been successfully funded through Kickstarter.
Originally its creators hoped to raise CA$100,000 to get the Neptune Pine off the ground. With four days to go before the funding period ends, the Canadian company has raised nearly CA$680,000.
To become one of the first to own a Neptune Pine, be sure to make your donation before Saturday, Dec. 21.
With a pledge of CA$229, you will receive a 16GB Neptune Pine in black. At CA$289, you can own a black 32GB Neptune Pine. When it launches in stores, the device will retail for $335 for the 16GB model, and $385 for the 32GB model. The Neptune Pine will be available in black and white versions.
