If you’re in the market for an iPhone 5c or iPad Air, we’ve got some good news for you. As 9to5Mac first claimed, some Apple Stores across the United States are offering price matching for both of those devices. But we've investigated, and have found a few more details.
There is at least one major catch. Apple will only match up to 10 percent off the retail price of either device. So don’t expect to walk out of the Apple Store with a free iPhone 5c, for example.
We called our local Apple Store, and they did confirm this news. They did mention that if there are any gift card deals available, like for Black Friday, it’s an either or type of situation. So, you can either price match or receive a gift card, but not both.
According to the original report, the price matching is only available in certain regions of the United States.
So if you’re interested in snagging a good deal, it would definitely be wise to call your local Apple Store and confirm that they are indeed offering price matching before making a trip.
It’s not a huge surprise, but Apple isn’t offering any type of price matching for the supply constrained iPad mini with Retina display and iPhone 5s.
