The iPhone 5s Remains The Top Selling Smartphone In The US For A Third Straight Month
December 12, 2013
Across the board, and for the third month in a row, Apple’s iPhone 5s is the top selling smartphone in the United States. The company’s iPhone 5c is now ranked No. 3, according to a new Canaccord Genuity survey.
As first noted by AppleInsider, the iPhone 5s remained No. 1 at AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless, in the month of November. This is the position Apple’s flagship device has held since it was launched on Sept. 20.
In the No. 2 position is the Samsung Galaxy S IV, which has gained some footing in the past month. During September and October, the mid-priced iPhone 5c finished No. 2 at AT&T. It also held this position at Sprint during the month of September. In November, the iPhone 5c finished at No. 3 at all four of the major U.S. carriers, as Samsung's phone moved up.
Canaaccord Genuity analyst T. Michael Walkley says that iPhone 5s sales were “strong” in November, while those for the iPhone 5c were “steady.” He concludes the iPhone 5s was "by far the top selling smartphone...at most channels where the smartphone launched globally."
