ABC News To Air Interview With Apple CEO Tim Cook On 30th Anniversary Of Macintosh

January 24, 2014
ABC News is set to air a rare interview with Apple CEO Tim Cook on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Macintosh, which was introduced on Jan. 24, 1984. The interview will be previewed with a short excerpt on Good Morning America tomorrow, Jan. 24, at 7 a.m. EST. Its full broadcast will then follow at 6:30 p.m. EST on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer. As noted by 9to5Mac, Cook was interviewed by ABC News anchor David Muir:
ABC has not shared many details about the interview, but based on the image shown above, the Mac Pro will be a point of discussion. “ABC News Anchor David Muir exclusively interviews Apple CEO Tim Cook on the 30th anniversary of the Macintosh and what is next for the company,” ABC says.
Indeed, Cook's interview appears to be part of Apple's campaign to promote the three-decade milestone of the Mac. Earlier today, Macworld published a similarly rare interview with three of Apple's key executives to discuss the Mac's 30 years and counting. In the interview, SVP of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller, SVP of Software Engineering Craig Federighi, and VP of Software Technology Bud Tribble said, among other statements, that the Mac has a long life ahead of it, thanks in part to the iPhone and the iPad.
