Cydia Tweak: Pluck 2 Brings Music Selection To The iOS Lock Screen
We’ve talked before about the problems surrounding on-the-go iOS music selection, but now the process of picking and queuing songs under iOS 7 has been made a lot easier by one new jailbreak tweak. Called Pluck 2, the package is available to download in the Cydia Store for $0.99, and can add a useful music selection icon to the iOS Lock screen.
Once you’ve got Pluck 2 up and running, you’ll be able to quickly access the contents of your iOS Music app from both the Lock screen and Control Center. The package adds small icons to the bottom left-hand corner of the Lock screen and alongside the Music app buttons in Control Center, and touching either icon allows iDevice users to switch or queue music that’s presently playing.
Apple’s Music app interface pops up upon a press of Pluck 2, and it disappears again once users have made their selection. It’s as simple - and effective - as that.
The jailbreak tweak requires iOS 7, and it’s not optimized for the iPad - though it looks like this could be incoming, according to the package’s release notes. Our own Dom Esposito acted as a beta tester for Pluck 2, and we think the jailbreak tweak is going to suit iDevice-using music fans perfectly.
Here’s how the Pluck 2 icon looks:
We’re hoping Pluck 2 gets its iPad-optimizing update in the near future. It’d also be nice for an improved icon to appear in the jailbreak tweak, too. Though the functionality of the package is perfect, as of this writing the Pluck 2 icon doesn’t quite look like it fits with iOS 7.
That being said, Pluck 2 is nevertheless an impressive jailbreak tweak and for $0.99, users will definitely get their money’s worth.
