Is It Super? A New Ad Finds Inspiration From Apple's '1984' Masterpiece

As it has been for decades, this Sunday's Super Bowl will showcase plenty of exciting, controversial, and just plain silly ads. Many still consider Apple’s 60-second “1984" ad the best of all time. It ran during Super Bowl XVIII 30 years ago this month. It is also the inspiration behind a new advertising campaign airing online. Aspiration Partners LLC opens for business later this year. The financial services company promises to democratize the world of investing “in a way that Apple set out to democratize the world of computing.” To get this point across, Aspiration's new ad replaces the drones in "1984" with Wall Street men in suits. Big Brother is no longer represented by IBM.
