Nintendo Denies Report That It Will Bring Mini-Games To Mobile Devices

Well that was fast. After a report surfaced yesterday that Nintendo was planning to bring mini-games to mobile devices, the company flatly denied the claim in a statement to Engadget.
On Monday, Japanese newspaper Nikkei published a story saying that venerable game company would finally make a move to the App Store in 2014.
But here’s the complete Nintendo statement:
"Nikkei's article contains information previously stated by Mr. Iwata during past press conferences, including statements which relate to Nintendo's willingness to make use of smart devices to promote our products. However during such past announcements Mr. Iwata has also stated that Nintendo's intention is not to make Nintendo software available on smart devices and as such, we can confirm that there are no plans to offer mini-games on smartphone devices. "Interestingly, Nintendo didn’t deny the part of the report that said it will release some type of official Nintendo app to expand its user base and spread information about new game releases. But we’ll apparently get a concrete answer once and for all during a briefing from the company on Thursday, Jan. 30.
