Parallels Access Updated With New Features Along With New Subscription Options
January 28, 2014
Parallels Access, the acclaimed app for remotely accessing Windows and Mac applications from an iPad, has just received its first major update.
The update introduces a new iOS 7-inspired design to Parallels Access, but that's far from being its most notable offering.
For one thing, it introduces a new subscription scheme that's implemented on a per-user basis, as opposed to the previous per-remote-machine plan. What's more, an annual subscription is now available for $49.99 rather than $79.99, and there's also a new monthly subscription available for $4.99.
One subscription provides connections to up to 10 PC and Mac computers, with full support for OS X Mavericks and Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 as remote machines.
The new Parallels Access update also features single-port connection, allowing you to connect from any network, even from a restrictive corporate one.
Finally, the update adds support for more languages. In addition to English and German, Parallels Access now supports French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Compatible with iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, the new version of Parallels Access is available now in the App Store for free.
Released in August last year, Parallels Access was hailed as one of AppAdvice's Top 10 Best Free iPad Apps Of 2013.
