PlayStation App Updated With Live From PlayStation Integration And More

January 31, 2014
Sony has just issued the first ever update to PlayStation App. Released last November, PlayStation App is the official iOS companion app of PlayStation 4. As such, it functions as a second-screen app and a social networking hub for PlayStation 4 players. For its first ever update, PlayStation App has gained a couple of notable features. One is Live from PlayStation, which lets you view live streams from Ustream and Twitch. Note, though, that Live from PlayStation redirects you to an external Web browser or to the corresponding live-steaming service app to watch a stream, as opposed to letting you view the stream right within the app. The other notable feature brought about by PlayStation App's first update is support for playback of video in notifications from the PlayStation Store. The update also delivers stability improvements. Moreover, it tweaks the app so that it no longer automatically connects to a PlayStation 4 system that is in standby mode. The new version of PlayStation App is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
