January 27, 2014
The game is on. A week after soft-launching the app in the U.K. and other select countries, BBC, in collaboration with The Project Factory, has officially released Sherlock: The Network in the U.S.
Available now in the App Store in the U.S. (and apparently in more countries around the world), Sherlock: The Network is the official iOS app of "Sherlock," BBC's popular modern crime drama TV series adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes detective stories.

As we noted in our original article about the app, Sherlock: The Network invites you to become part of the title character's network of amateur sleuths to solve a curious case in a virtual version of London:
This official Sherlock app contains over 30 minutes of exclusive video content, games, and an entire mystery for you and Sherlock to solve. Answer Sherlock’s messages to source and deliver information to him at 221B Baker Street. Navigate virtual London in search of information. Communicate with Sherlock and others in The Network. The more valuable you are, the higher you will rise in the ranks…Perhaps most notably, Sherlock: The Network features new and exclusive footage of Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, and Mark Gatiss in character as Sherlock (the "amateur reasoner of some celebrity" himself), John H. Watson (his sidekick), and Mycroft Holmes (his brother), respectively. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, Sherlock: The Network is available in the App Store for $4.99. Also available in the App Store for the same price is its iPad edition, Sherlock: The Network HD, which has specially designed high-definition graphics. Returning after a two-year hiatus, "Sherlock" concluded its third season on BBC last Jan. 12. The three-episode season premiered on PBS last Sunday, Jan. 19. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
