The 'iPad Pro' Is Likely To Be A Hybrid Device And Launch This Fall

Apple will unveil a new 12-inch iPad hybrid that could fundamentally change the notebook PC landscape. So says Evercore Partners analyst Patrick Wang, according to AppleInsider.
In a note to investors, Wang says the “iPad Pro” will feature a next-generation “A8” processor, and launch in the fall of 2014. Unlike previous iPads, this model will shake up the traditional, established notebook market.
AppleInsider explains:
… Wang predicts that Apple wouldn't just simply release a larger iPad — he sees the company using the additional screen real estate to create a hybrid-style device that could serve as both a tablet and a notebook, and would make the iPad lineup more appealing to business customers.Wang calls the 64-bit infrastructure introduced in Apple's A7 processor a "game changer," and one of the reasons Apple can now produce a hybrid iPad. The 64-bit A7 chip is currently installed on the iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and iPad mini with Retina display. We’ve heard plenty of rumors in recent months about the so-called iPad Pro. This is among the first, however, to suggest Apple's new product could be a hybrid device. Earlier this week, I also suggested the iPad Pro would be a hybrid between iOS and OS X.
