Apple has been awarded the best mobile tablet of the year award for the iPad Air at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The judges say “the iPad Air packs class-leading performance in an attractive and svelte frame, while its ecosystem has an undisputed advantage in the number of format-optimized apps.”
At the same event, the HTC One was named best smartphone of the year, while the Nokia Lumia 520 received the best low cost smartphone award. LG was named most innovative device manufacturer of the year.
Last year, Google and Asus won the best mobile tablet award for the Nexus 7. Market leader Samsung left the event without winning an award in any product category.
