Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker By MyFitnessPal Is Now A Universal App For iOS
February 25, 2014
Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker by MyFitnessPal has just been updated with universal support.
As its name suggests, the app helps you record your calorie intake and maintain a food log using a MyFitnessPal.com account in order to reach your weight loss goals. Touted as the fastest and easiest-to-use calorie counter on iOS, the app offers a database of more than 3 million food items and features quick food and exercise entry.
Released back in December 2008 for iPhone and iPod touch, Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker by MyFitnessPal has just gone universal for iPad.
Note that there has been a Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker by MyFitnessPal HD app for iPad since December 2011. But with the launch of the new universal app, MyFitnessPal has announced that this HD app will soon be discontinued.
"New universal app available," MyFitnessPal notes in the HD app's App Store description. "Please search the App Store for 'MyFitnessPal' and download our free app 'Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker by MyFitnessPal'. It's now a universal app for your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. MyFitnessPal HD will not be supported in the future."
The new universal app also introduces a new "related foods" feature, making it easier to add foods that you've previously paired with the food you're currently adding to your diary.
The new universal version of Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker by MyFitnessPal is available now in the App Store for free. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
The app was updated and redesigned for iOS 7 last October for iPhone and last December for iPad.
