Cydia Tweak: BattSaver Promises To Double Your Battery Life Under iOS 7

February 18, 2014

Is your iPhone’s battery life getting you down? Then consider investing in BattSaver for iOS 7: a brand new jailbreak tweak that promises to double your handset’s battery life under the seventh iteration of Apple’s mobile OS.

The new package can be downloaded for $3.99 in the Cydia Store, and it’s optimized for iOS 7 only (BattSaver for iOS 5 and iOS 6 is also available for the same price). Once downloaded and installed, the jailbreak tweak aims to substabtially improve your iOS device’s battery life by switching off “battery-draining components” when they’re not needed.

As we explained a couple of years ago when discussing BattSaver for iOS 5 and iOS 6, the jailbreak tweak achieves this through shutting down iPhone “radios” – such as Wi-Fi, 4G, 3G, and Edge. This happens automatically, and shouldn’t disrupt services offered by your iPhone.

Rather, battery life should double, allowing users to run their handset for longer between charges. Plus, because this means you’re not draining and recharging your handset’s battery as often, the battery itself should, in theory, last longer than it usually would. This was the case with BattSaver for iOS 5 and iOS 6, and we see no reason why it shouldn’t also be the case for iOS 7, too.

As mentioned, you can pick up BattSaver for iOS 7 in the Cydia Store for $3.99.

It might be more expensive than most of the other jailbreak tweaks we cover here at AppAdvice, but the chance of doubling one’s iPhone battery life makes BattSaver a package worth investing in.
