Find Out Who's Been Pulling An NSA And Nosing Into Your iPhone With Catchr
February 11, 2014
Contrary to what its Touch ID lookalike icon might suggest, the newly released Catchr app doesn't offer a third-party alternative to Apple's fingerprint recognition feature. But like Touch ID, Catchr is all about privacy.
Touted as a "privacy guardian" that helps you keep your private stuff private, Catchr is a deceptively simple app that lets you surreptitiously find out if someone else has been using your iPhone while you're away. According to developer Nordlogic:
This app comes in handy if you are the type of person who finds privacy as being an individual right & delight. It can also be a helpful tool in figuring out which of your friends you can trust, or if your significant other is a bit nosy or not.Catchr works mainly by detecting the apps that have been initiated or terminated in the owner's absence. Take a peek at how the app operates in the video below, which ends with a rather amusing twist: If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Catchr itself offers an additional layer of security by allowing a passcode lock to be set for its collected information. Optimized for iPhone running iOS 6.0 or later, Catchr is available now in the App Store for the special introductory price of $1.99. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
