Following Big 2.0 Update, BBM To Gain More New Features And Improvements Soon

March 1, 2014
A couple of weeks ago, BlackBerry updated its popular BBM app to version 2.0 with a number of new features, including BBM Voice and BBM Channels. Now, the company has announced that even more enhancements are coming soon to the app. "With millions of you depending on BBM to connect with your most important contacts, we want to provide the best messaging experience possible," Jeff Gadway, head of product and brand marketing for BBM, says in a new post on the official BlackBerry blog. "So, we’re taking your feedback and we’re trying to knock it out of the park by bringing new features and improvements to BBM on a regular basis." These new features and improvements include the ability to share photos in multi-person chats. This comes in addition to the already existing sharing options, such as the one for location sharing introduced in BBM 2.0. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. BBM is also set to get an increase in the size limit imposed on shared files, from 6MB to 16MB per file. This will effectively allow you to send bigger photos, longer videos, and larger documents. Finally, BBM is also set to get a slight increase in the size of its emoticons, a hundred of which were newly added in its previous major update. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, BBM is available in the App Store for free.
