'Netflix For Books' App Oyster Updated With New Explore Tab And Other Improvements
February 25, 2014
Oyster, the so-called "Netlix for books," has just received another notable update on iOS.
The main highlight of the latest update to Oyster for iOS is the new Explore tab, which offers an easy way to browse the Oyster library by genre and find your next great read. The Oyster team notes:
Enter a bookstore stacked wall-to-wall with books. Browse curious covers, revisit old favorites, and leaf through books by authors you’ve been meaning to read for ages. The process of discovery is sometimes the best part, and the latest version of Oyster is all about celebrating that spirit of exploration. The update also brings about a Home redesign, with quick access to your Reading List and more prominent display of the Oyster editors' choices in the Spotlight features. The update also lets you follow your Facebook friends when you log in for the first time, remove books from your Recent Books list, and see which other Oyster users have read, rated, or save a book. Also featuring refined visual design, color, and typography, the new version of Oyster is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. Oyster offers unlimited access to its library of more than 100,000 e-books from leading publishers for just $9.95 per month.
