'Personal' Social Networking App Path Finally Gets Updated And Redesigned For iOS 7

February 11, 2014
Remember when Path was reported to be among the high-profile apps that have already prepared their flat and simple interface redesigns in anticipation of the release of iOS 7 last September? Well, while many of the other apps in question have since been updated for iOS 7, it's only now that the "personal" social networking app has officially unveiled its new design for Apple's current mobile operating system. "We know, we’re a bit late to the party," says Path CEO Dave Morin in a new blog post. "But, today we are happy to announce Path for iOS 7. Focused on simplicity and usability - from an entirely new coat of paint, to adjusting your Settings, to browsing the Shop, to iOS 7 swipe gestures - we’ve made it simpler and easier to do the things you do every day with Path." Of course, Path's new iOS 7-optimized version is itself flat and simple, while keeping its signature red color scheme throughout the app. The newly updated app also offers easier settings controls, which have been simplified into Account, Notifications, and Sharing sections. It also features a new look for The Shop, which makes for easier browsing of premium stickers and filters. Path now also supports iOS 7's convenient back navigation swipe gesture. The new, iOS 7-optimized version of Path is available now in the App Store for free. The app, though, remains compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
