Readdle Introduces Inter-App Connectivity For Better Productivity In Documents 5

Readdle has just announced a major update to one of its popular namesake productivity apps. The update is set to bring Documents by Readdle, the developer's acclaimed file manager, document viewer, and media player for iPhone and iPad, to version 5.0. Unsurprisingly, Documents 5 features a new design that matches the look and feel of iOS 7. But more importantly, Documents 5 introduces functional inter-app connectivity with several other Readdle apps, thereby unlocking a number of useful features. Readdle notes:

Documents 5 will support the integration with 3 main Readdle apps – we call them “add-ons”. In order to activate add-ons you have to download them as separate apps. Documents 5 will understand if you have that specific add-on and will allow to perform extra tasks right from Documents 5 app. Please note that add-ons are only available for iPad users now.

Documents 5 initially supports add-ons for PDF Converter, Printer Pro, and PDF Expert 5, with the add-on for Scanner Pro to follow soon. It lets you convert files into PDFs with PDF Converter, print documents and pictures with Printer Pro, and edit and annotate PDFs with PDF Expert 5. As mentioned, Documents 5 is scheduled to be released tomorrow, Feb. 27. Documents by Readdle is available in the App Store for free.
