The Creators Of Une Bobine Are Back With A New iPhone Accessory Called togoDock

February 12, 2014

The folks behind Une Bobine (“a coil”), the impressive charger-tripod we first told you about back in May 2012, are back with a brand new product. This time, creator Fuse Chicken has developed an iPhone dock that can stick to practically any surface you can think of. It’s called togoDock, and you can back the project now at the crowdfunding website Indiegogo.

Fuse Chicken explains: “togoDock is the world’s first magnetically-integrated portable dock and charge cable. Using high-strength magnetics, you can turn just about any surface into a portable iPhone dock.” Though users can mount togoDock onto any magnetic surface directly, it’s also possible to mount the iPhone dock to a non-magnetic surface using self-adhesive disc mounts, which Fuse Chicken includes with the product.

Jon Fawcett, chief executive officer of Fuse Chicken, explained his company’s vision behind togoDock:

Our goal is to make everyday interaction with technology simple. Our newest device lets you mount and charge your iPhone anywhere – in the car as a GPS, in the kitchen to follow recipes, next to the bed as an alarm clock; togoDock is simple, cool and useful, and it fits right into your pocket.

The Lightning connector coils around togoDock, making the product easy to carry with you; a car adapter is also included with togoDock in order for users to charge an iPhone up with the accessory while driving.

Provided the project reaches its $20,000 funding goal, pledges of $30 or more will be rewarded with a togoDock, and the first 200 backers will receive a PLUGdock – which allows iPhone owners to mount their handset to a wall outlet – free of charge.

Pledge prices are between 15 and 30 percent off retail, and shipping outside of the United States will set Indigogo users back an additional $15.
