Experience Driver's Ed On iOS In The Frustrating But Fun Bad Student Driver
Bad Student Driver is a new app that puts gamers through a driver’s ed lesson like no other. Offering retro, pixelated graphics and a fun one-touch control system, the new application can be downloaded free of charge on the App Store now.
Optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, Bad Student Driver gets gamers to control an auto-driving car as it swerves along a highway. The car begins in the middle of the road, but once players take control, it’ll soon start randomly veering off to the left or right quite frequently.
You can guide the car back towards the center of the screen with a well-timed tap, but this is definitely an inexact science. In fact, after spending a short time playing Bad Student Driver, I’ve struggled to keep on driving for even a few seconds.
If you crash into the side of the road, then you’ll need to start again; at the same time, cones (which appear along the center of the highway) must also be avoided, making Bad Student Driver a real challenge. Developer P1XL explains:
Drive your car as far as you can down the road, avoiding the traffic cones and the curb as you veer to the right, then to the left, and back again. Does your car badly need a front-end alignment, or are you just that bad of a driver? We’re not sure, but the results are hilarious!
The app features social integration (Facebook and Twitter), and it also connects up to Apple’s Game Center, too. Here’s a complete list of features, as outlined in the application’s release notes:
- Addictive “one more try” gameplay
- Fun single-tap controls
- Earn better licenses as you improve your high score!
- Share your best scores with your friends on Facebook and Twitter!
- Game Center enabled - score leaderboard and achievements!
Below, we’ve included a trailer for the app, along with a handful of iOS screenshots.
