Mailbox-Like To-Do App Swipes Gains Location-Based Reminders, New Light Theme
March 2, 2014
Swipes, the to-do app with Mailbox-like gestures and features, has just received another major update.
Released in June 2013, Swipes received its first major update in December. That update introduced a new design for iOS 7 with new motivational backgrounds and adds support for priorities and searching within tasks, notes, and tags.
That update also saw the introduction of Swipes Plus, Swipe's subscription service offering access to several premium features. At launch, Swipes Plus featured task management via the Swipes Web app, seamless syncing across platforms and devices, and task sharing. It also promised the addition of support for location-based reminders.

With Swipes' just-issued second major update, task sharing has been taken out of Swipes Plus and made available for all Swipes users. Task sharing lets you email tasks and get help from others with your list.
The update also activates location-based reminders in Swipes Plus. "Never again miss on a task if you can do it from home, the shop or at the office," the Swipes team notes. "We'll remind you based on your location."
Finally, the update adds a new light theme as a more refreshing alternative to the app's default dark theme.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Swipes is available in the App Store for free.
Swipes Plus is available via in-app purchase for $0.99 per month or $9.99 per year.
