Marvel Unlimited Update Introduces Native Marvel Comics Reading Experience

March 9, 2014
The so-called "Netflix for Marvel comics" app Marvel Unlimited has just received what is said to be its biggest update yet. Previously, Marvel Unlimited was redesigned for iOS 7 and updated with several improvements. This time, the app has been enhanced with a "completely reinvented, reimagined" reading experience. This revamped reading experience is made possible mainly by the introduction of native reading in Marvel Unlimited, which downloads comic books for viewing. This is as opposed to the app's former streaming setup, which was cumbersome at best. Marvel Unlimited's new reading experience comes with Marvel's patented Smart Panel experience. Similar to the cinematic Guided View technology featured in ComiXology's Comics app, Smart Panel lets you read through comics on a panel by panel basis well-suited to mobile devices. Disabled by default, Smart Panel can be enabled in the reading settings menu. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.1 or later, the new version of Marvel Unlimited is available now in the App Store for free. Marvel Unlimited offers readers access to thousands of Marvel comic books starting at $9.99 per month. But in celebration of SXSW 2014, you can sign up for a one-month trial of Marvel Unlimited for just $0.99 by using the code SXSW99 when purchasing a monthly subscription. The new version of Marvel Unlimited is also said to include "new features to discover that Marvel will announce soon." [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
