Spotify Premium Is Now Just $5 Per Month For US College Students
March 25, 2014
College students can now subscribe to the Spotify Premium music service for 50 percent less. Instead of paying $10 per month, the price has dropped to $5, according to Re/Code.
The offer covers students enrolled in a four-year or two-year program, and is good for up to four years. The program is limited to college students in the U.S., and uses the SheerID verification service to make sure the applicant is enrolled in a qualifying institution.
Spotify Premium allows subscribers to listen to unlimited music across multiple devices including the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
This isn’t the first streaming music service to offer a discount to students. Last fall, Rdio began offering a similar deal for its premium package.
