Tapbots Updates Tweetbot 3: Adds New Font, Inline Media And More
Developer Tapbots has just updated its popular Twitter client Tweetbot 3, making a number of changes to the $4.99 iPhone application.
First up, Twitter users can now activate a new font – Avenir – in Tweetbot's preferences, and the option to auto-enlarge thumbnails in the Twitter timeline is also available (a feature that's already appeared in the official Twitter app).
You can also “mute” tweets using a mute filter rule in Tweetbot 3.3. This is available in Tweetbot for Mac, and the iPhone app will prompt users to have tweets which have already loaded in their timeline removed once a filter has been activated.
Tapbots adds that a number of bug fixes have been made in the updated app, too. To recap, here's a complete list of features, as outlined in the application's release notes:
- Avenir as a new font option in the display settings.
- Large image thumbnail option (as well as an option for no thumbnail) in the display settings.
- Option to remove current tweets in your lists/timelines that match a newly created filter. (Pops up after you create a filter.)
- Various bug fixes.
Though this is definitely a much-appreciated update, Tweetbot's users are still waiting on an iOS 7-optimizing release for the iPad application. Tweetbot 3 first launched for the iPhone back in October, yet it seems we've still got some time to wait until Tapbots launches a major update for its iPad app.
We'll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.
In the meantime, Tweetbot 3.3 can be downloaded on the App Store now, and the application is available to purchase for $4.99.
