Valued At Over $100 Billion, Apple Is Reportedly The Most Valuable Brand In The US

March 19, 2014
Apple has the most value among U.S. brands, according to a new ranking by Brand Finance. The brand valuation consultancy firm has just come out with Brand Finance U.S. 500, its ranking of American brand values covering the top 500 billion-dollar brands. And unsurprisingly, the Cupertino-based maker of Mac and iOS devices is ranked as the most valuable brand. Apple's brand is valued at $104.7 billion, the first and only brand to be valued at more than $100 billion. Google and Microsoft are ranked second and third at $68.6 billion and $62.8 billion, respectively. The combined value of the top 500 U.S. brands is $2.5 trillion, with the tech industry, which makes up 22 percent of the total value, being the most valuable sector. Cue infographic: As noted by Silicon Valley Business Journal, Brand Finance "chose members of the 'Billion Dollar Brands' club by estimating the royalty rate that would be charged for use of the brand and factoring in future revenue." Last year, Apple was named the most valuable brand in the world by Interbrand and Marketing Week. And just last month, for the seventh year running, Apple topped Fortune’s list of the world’s most admired companies.
