Cydia Tweak: Convergance Promises An All-In-One Lock Screen Replacement
Convergance is a brand new jailbreak tweak that promises users a complete, all-in-one Lock screen replacement package for iOS. You can pick up the new jailbreak tweak now for $2.50 on the Cydia Store, and it’s optimized for iOS 7 and ARM64-devices.
The package’s feature set extends across four main areas: widgets, theming, HTML, and APIs for developers. First, widgets allow users to add custom information to their iOS Lock screen. This can include “a crisp RSS reader, your calendar, and the week’s weather,” according to the package’s developer, and more Convergance-compatible widgets are in the process of being added to the Cydia Store, too.
Themes, on the other hand, allow jailbreakers to customize the overall appearance of Convergance. The package features its own built-in theming engine, and users can quickly toggle between four preconfigured themes (Charcoal, Conceptual, Default, and Thin) from inside the jailbreak tweak’s preferences.
Support for HTML Lock screens is also offered by Convergance, and users are therefore able to better customize the jailbreak tweak in order to meet their personal tastes. In the app’s release notes, the developer of Convergance explains:
Any lockscreen from GroovyLock, LockHTML, or Cydget will run without any modification, with full support for interactivity. A lockscreen dim delay is also provided in the Advanced settings.
Finally, Convergance is set to further expand its feature set since a dedicated set of APIs for developers allows the number of widgets available in the package to be increased.
As of this writing, Convergance is available for the iPhone and iPod touch only, however the developer adds that iPad support will be added “in a separate package” at a later date. You can pick up the jailbreak tweak for $2.50 on the Cydia Store, and it’s optimized for both iOS 7 and ARM64-devices.
