Fun Karting Game Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Is Now Free

April 24, 2014
Great news for fans of SEGA’s Sonic games. Along with being updated to version 2.0, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is now free on the App Store. If you like kart racers, this is definitely a great title to pick up. Sonic, and a whole host of All-Stars, are tasked with racing to the finish line first. The transformable vehicles switch from a car to a boat and then a plane during the race. The game also has a fun multiplayer mode. Gamers can take on their friends in four-player races locally or online. With Facebook integration, you can even see friends’ profile photos while racing. With version 2.0, users can now record and share video clips with Everyplay. A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed can be downloaded now. There are a number of opportunities for in-app purchases to upgrade the game. Anyone who previously purchased the game at its original $4.99 price will still be able to access their free VIP Pass. The title originally landed back in January. Our own Katy Zane, in a review, said she really liked the game and its large number of different events and challenges. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed also nabbed an Honorable Mention title in our AppAdvice Game of the Week soon after its release.
