Horde Of Heroes Soft-Launches In Canada, Worldwide Release Planned For April 24

April 2, 2014

Horde of Heroes, a fun match-three game along similar lines to the popular 10000000, has soft-launched in the Canadian App Store and is expected to appear worldwide on April 24, according to its developer. The application will be available free of charge, and it’s optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

The news reached us from TouchArcade, which noted in a recent article that Horde of Heroes “combines humor and pixel art with the classic match–3 gameplay that we all know and love. You’ll also collect loot, lots and lots of loot.” The publication adds that more than 1 million different combinations of equipment are available in the app, which should certainly please fans of the match-three genre.

In a post added to the TouchArcade forums, developer Everlane explains:

Hordes of Heroes (sic) is a Free To Play Match–3 RPG placing the player in the role of a medieval Hero whose quest is to set out and save the kingdom from evil doers, ne’er-do-wells and generally unsavory characters.

Besides finding and matching up items in the app, users will also be able to unlock special powers and play against real-life friends, Everlane adds. Here’s a gameplay video that first surfaced online yesterday:

As mentioned, we’re expecting to see the game launch worldwide on April 24, though folks in Canada can pick up the app now. If you live outside of Canada but can’t wait until then to get your hands on Horde of Heroes, you could use this smart method to download the application ahead of schedule.

Or alternatively, you could try out a different match-three app – both 10000000 and Block Legend would be good choices.

We’ll let you know once Horde of Heroes is available to download outside of Canada.
