Microsoft Wants To Color Our World With Nokia Smartphones
April 28, 2014
Microsoft has released the company's first Nokia ad following the acquisition of the company’s devices and services business. "Not Like Everyone Else” features a dull and gray world that is only brightened up when a guy wearing yellow and red clothing shows up. The ad ends with the message “Everything Just Became A Lot #More Colorful.”

Earlier today, Kanatar Worldpanel ComTech released a survey showing that Microsoft’s Windows phone platform accounted for just 5.3 percent of all smartphones sold in the U.S. during the previous quarter. This compared to 57.6 percent for Google’s Android and 35.9 percent for Apple’s iOS.
As Dominic Sunnebo, the strategic insight director at Kantar said, "Windows had a tough start to the year as a result of its entry-level Nokia models facing fierce competition from low-end Motorola, LG and Samsung Android smartphones."
Last September, Microsoft announced its intent to purchase Nokia's smartphone business for $7.1 billion. The deal became official earlier this month.
