AlbumSnapper Jailbreak Tweak Offers A Feature Apple Should Add In iOS 8
AlbumSnapper is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that allows users to select albums (and even create new ones) right from the iOS Camera app. It’s a smart package, and is definitely something we think Apple should consider implementing natively in its iOS operating system.
Jeff at iDownloadBlog got to take a preview version of AlbumSnapper for a spin, and in a recent article he explains that the jailbreak tweak adds a new button to the top of the Camera app labeled “Albums.” Located between the HDR and the front-facing camera toggle icons, this Albums button activates a pop-up menu that allows users to choose an album for the images they’re about to shoot.
The default album is “Camera Roll,” however users can select one of the other albums available in their iOS Photos app or they can create a new album right from AlbumSnapper’s pop-up interface.
Over in the package’s preferences, users can enable or disable AlbumSnapper outright or they can choose whether the jailbreak tweak remembers their previously-selected album, too. Jeff explains:
If you took my advice and enabled the persistent toggle feature in AlbumSnapper’s settings, then your album choice will remain, even if you exit the Camera app. Otherwise, the album selection will default back to the Camera Roll, and you’ll have to reselect your desired album each time you exit and enter the stock Camera app.
AlbumSnapper should launch on the Cydia Store in the near future, though as of this writing we’re not sure if it’ll be a free or paid jailbreak tweak. We’ll let you know once it’s available to download and install.
