Audiobooks App Goes 6.0 With iOS 7 Redesign, Podcast Support And More
May 27, 2014
Audiobooks, the simply named audiobook app developed by Cross Forward Consulting, has just been updated to version 6.0.
Released in celebration of the app's fifth anniversary, Audiobooks 6.0 introduces several new features and enhancements.
Most noticeably, there's the app's redesigned interface, which significantly improves on the app's initial iOS 7 makeover last September. The new interface includes book covers to facilitate searching and it also makes for better library and file management.
Audiobooks 6.0 also sees the addition of nearly 1,600 new audiobooks to the app's free catalog. Moreover, it adds support for podcasts, allowing listeners to enjoy a selection of radio-like episode recordings as well as audiobooks. (For avid podcast fans, the app suggests the dedicated podcast app Pod Wrangler.)
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Audiobooks 6.0 is available now in the App Store for free.
A premium edition of Audiobooks, which has been updated as well to version 6.0, is also available in the App Store for $0.99. It offers a lower price than the free edition for the "Plus Unlimited" in-app purchase that unlocks premium audiobooks.
