Everything is getting smarter with Bluetooth 4.0 technology these days, including portable backup battery packs.
While Braven is well-known for a number of rugged speakers, the company has just introduced the BRV-BANK. And the device is definitely unique.
Touted as the first Bluetooth-enabled power bank, it looks like a perfect companion for any outdoor adventure this summer.
Along with a 6,000 mAH battery, which can recharge a completely depleted iPhone 5s up to four times, the BRV-BANK is water resistant and shockproof. With two USB ports, users can recharge their iPhone and iPad at the same time.
The companion Remote Battery Monitor app, and Bluetooth capability, also open up a number of interesting control options. Users can locate the device, monitor the battery’s power levels, individually turn on and off each of the two ports to conserve power, and activate two other handy features.
Bear Mode activates an iPhone’s motion sensor. If the phone is moved, an alarm will go off on the power and the connected USB flashlight will illuminate. S.O.S. Mode sends the visual universal distress call via the flashlight.
Available in white or black, the BRV-BANK retails for $129.99 and can be ordered directly from Braven’s site now. Along with the device itself and flashlight, Braven includes a lanyard and a rugged USB charging cable with sealed ends.
