So once again the day is saved, thanks to the PowerPuff Girls! And no thanks to Mojo Jojo. That's basically the happy ending of Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville, if you're successful at playing the just released iOS game based on Cartoon Network's "The Powerpuff Girls." Published by Cartoon Network owner Turner Broadcasting System and developed by JoyJoy and Fluid SE developer RadianGames, Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville is a Metroidvania-style adventure shooter starring the titular trio and their nemesis, Mojo Jojo:
Mojo Jojo has blasted the Powerpuff Girls with his Disremember Ray, which makes them forget how to use their superpowers! You'll have to explore the far reaches of Townsville to remember all your powers and take down that evil monkey!To save Townsville from the simian mad scientist, you'll start out playing as Buttercup and rescuing Blossom and Bubbles. Once you've reunited the trio, you can use each of their powers to unlock and discover new areas. But watch out for Mojo Jojo's evil robots, four of which you have to defeat in giant boss battles. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville is available now on the App Store for $3.99. The game's release comes just days after it was reported that "The Powerpuff Girls" will be rebooted with a new TV series to be aired on Cartoon Network in 2016. Created by Craig McCracken, the show premiered in 1998. Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville actually features the voices of the show's original voice actors.
