Hotwire's iOS App Now Lets You Book Car Rentals In Addition To Hotels

The popular discount travel site Hotwire has just updated its official iOS app to version 3.0 with a new car rental functionality. Featuring the core functionality of its sibling cap, CarRentals, Hotwire 3.0 lets you search for and reserve a car rental virtually anywhere in the U.S for as low as $12 per day. When you open the app, you can search for car rental locations in cities or at airports near you. You can then set your preferred car type (economy, compact, midsize, etc.) and view the corresponding prices. Finally, you can review the details and billing of your car rental and reserve right on the same page, whereupon a confirmation with an overview of your reservation is automatically sent to you. If you have a Hotwire account, you're encouraged to sign in to the app to make booking car rentals even faster, in as few as three taps. The updated app also features an option to call a car expert any time of the day. As well, it includes general performance improvements. Hotwire 3.0 is available now in the App Store for free. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. Note, though, that the new car rental functionality is initially available on iPhone and iPod touch only. [gallery]
