StreamNation Unveils Shutter, The 'Infinite Camera' With Free And Unlimited Cloud Storage
June 29, 2014
StreamNation, the startup behind the popular "media center" app of the same name, has just launched a new camera app on iOS. But apparently, this one's not your ordinary camera app.
Called Shutter, this new app is touted by StreamNation as the "Infinite Camera." On what basis, you ask? Well, Shutter offers unlimited camera roll, unlimited cloud storage, and unlimited sharing. What's more, and perhaps most importantly, the app provides all of that for the awesome price of free. Yup, free and unlimited, for life.
Check out the app's introductory video below:

As highlighted in the video, Shutter lets you take as many photos as you want and shoot hour-long videos without having to worry about storage space. The app also lets you share any number of photos and videos all at once via email or your favorite social networks. Furthermore, it features an Infinite Photo Stream for reliving your memories even from way back when.
Shutter also offers custom filters, background uploading, offline viewing, and streaming support for AirPlay and Chromecast.
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later, Shutter by StreamNation is available now on the App Store for free.
Unlimited storage on StreamNation's flagship media center service costs $19 per month on an annual billing, but unlimited storage on Shutter is absolutely free.
There has been some confusion among users of the app, which displays only 5GB of free storage. To address this issue, StreamNation has sent the following clarification:
We'd like to clear up any confusion around Shutter's unlimited storage -- yes, storage is indeed unlimited. The settings section of the app stills shows 5GB because when we initially posted the app in the App Store for review, the objective was to start with 5GB of free storage and switch to unlimited when you invite 5 friends. After the App Store accepted Shutter, we decided to remove this limit and activate all users to unlimited. In line with the launch of Shutter, the StreamNation app has been updated to redirect to the so-called Infinite Camera for photo and video uploads.
