QuizUp Gains New Social Features Plus Coca-Cola-Sponsored World Cup Topics
June 19, 2014
QuizUp has just received an update that enhances its social aspects and keeps it up to speed with the current sporty zeitgeist.
The latest update to the uproariously popular trivia game introduces monthly leaderboards, where you can see how you rank against other players who have been active within the current month. Then, at the end of each month, the players who have the highest scores in each topic get to win monthly banners.
Speaking of banners, in addition to the usual "Best in" banners, QuizUp now awards "2nd best," "3rd best," and "Top 10 best" banners to the top 10 highest scorers in each topic.
The update also improves sharing by adding an option to share directly to Facebook Messenger. Moreover, it includes a link to QuizUp.com or deep links to the topic, leaderboard or achievement you're sharing.
Coinciding with the implementation of these changes is the addition of a new category celebrating the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Assembled by QuizUp developer Plain Vanilla in collaboration with Coca-Cola, the World Cup category features 40 topics filled with trivia focused on the competing countries and on the game of soccer itself.
Also including bug fixes, the new version of QuizUp is available now on the App Store for free. The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later.
Released for iPhone and iPod touch in November last year, QuizUp was updated with universal support for iPad and iPad mini last February.
