The just released iOS 8 beta 4 features some notable changes from previous versions of the software.
Most interesting is the new Tips app. Currently, users can read six different tips about a number of iOS 8 features like notifications, Siri, and more. Apple is promising to add new tips every week. The app is installed by default and can’t be removed by users.
Control Center has also received an interesting redesign. Along with adding in some contrast to the Brightness and AirDrop settings, the black borders around the icons have been removed. As you can see, when an icon is activated, it turns completely white.
Another nice change is with the Display & Brightness setting. Instead of being placed inside the Wallpaper setting, it now can be found on the main Settings page. Users can change the brightness, toggle the Auto-Brightness setting, select the text size, and choose whether they would like to see bold text.
Some of the other changes include an option to toggle Handoff and Suggested Apps and the ability to assign different functions to the swipe left and right gestures in the default Mail app.
As always, these new features may or may not appear in the final version of the software. First unveiled back at WWDC in June, the final version of the software is expected to be made public sometime this fall.
